Utilizing new web-based videoconferencing technology, small groups of university students
from the US and predominantly Muslim Countries in the Middle East meet weekly on-line with the help of skilled facilitators.
Together they:
|
- ENGAGE in intensive dialogue about the relationship between the US and
the Arab & Muslim World, with a particular emphasis on the role of the media in shaping perceptions of the "other."
- EXPLORE a multi-media library containing a wide range of resources including
archival news and interview footage, academic and policy articles, websites, and lectures from relevant experts.
- EXPRESS their understanding of relevant issues by producing their own
video segments with provided news footage and working together on joint projects.
This is a program that i have participated in and going in the facilitation program next semester.
Its purpose is to bridge the gap between the west and the east. Those who participated from the United States learned a lot
about the misconceptions and distortions on Islam, the rise of fundamentalism, its true political causes, and the Arab worlds
views and values as a whole. If your university participates, i would greatly advise you to sign up for the class. If not,
you should recommend starting this program at your school. It is a great interactive way of learning about the 'other'. |

As the founder of this new website and a person dedicated to spread awarness about the truth and realities of life, i
would personally love to thank those who contributed to the 'Sorry Everybody Book'. Yes, its not new news, but it was
an incredibly heartfelt and amazingly touching gesture that im sure everyone here in the Middle East, if know about it, appreciate
greatly. Thank You...and please keep up the struggle for a more just world.
